Trio Restaurant at McMullen Creek Parkway and Rt 51, opened in January, 1992, and was the 15th restaurant designed by Shank & Gray Architects, Charlottesville, Va.
Trio's mission is to serve quality food with friendly efficient service in a beautiful environment. Teamwork and cooperation are emphasized in all areas. Managers serve as role models and it is the rule rather than the exception to see managers pitching in whenever needed in the kitchen, at the bar, and in the dining areas to be sure that customers receive prompt friendly service. Employees sometimes refer to their restaurant “family” and when employees or customers experience accomplishments or misfortune, they typically gather for celebration or support.
Our senior management team has worked together in several restaurants in Virginia and North Carolina. At Trio, Gary “Cutt” Robinson is general manager and oversees all restaurant operations. Chef James Bailey is responsible for purchasing food, developing menus and creating promotional menus and specials. Dave Robinson, as the catering manager, oversees all off premises catering and is in charge of marketing for both the restaurant and catering business. Collectively this group has had nearly 100 years of restaurant experience.
